Advertising comics might be pretty old hat to us by now, but now Internet giant Yahoo! is getting into the act anyway, hiring firm Slant Six Creative to craft a campaign to promote their mobile apps. Neal Shaffer and Daniel Krall, the team behind Oni Press’ One Plus One, have created a superhero story in which our nameless hero must fight the blahblahblahs using “Yahoo! Mail’s world-class spam protection.”
The promotion page is hosted over at Wired right now, where you can have download links sent to your iPhone or Android phone for six different apps (not all apps available on Android). The story itself is also available in the August 2010 issue of Wired (Will Ferrell cover).
